Selecting an object and enabling core import settings is the first step required when creating a mapping from a template.
Step 1: Start the Mapping Process
- Click on Import to Salesforce on an uploaded template to start the mapping process.

Step 2: Choose the Objects
- Use the Master dropdown to select the Parent object you want to import data to (e.g., Account).
- Use the Detail dropdown to select the related Child object you want to import data to (e.g., Contact).
Note: If the two objects contain multiple relationship fields between each other, the relationship field name is displayed next to the object in the Detail section. This allows specification of the exact relationship field to be used.

Step 3: Optional Import Settings
- If data is being imported to Leads, Contacts, or Cases; optional settings will become available.
- Import to Campaign
- Associate Leads or Contacts to an active Salesforce Campaign.
- Use Assignment Rules
- Assign imported Leads or Cases to owners using the Assignment Rules configured in Salesforce.
Note: Load mapping is utilised to edit an existing mapping and should not be used at this stage.
Step 4: Choosing the Import Type
- To continue on to choosing the import type (insert, update, upsert), select Next.
